Don't be scared.
Korea Fears Prejudice With Shooting Link
"South Korea's Foreign Ministry said Tuesday the government hoped the Virginia Tech shootings, allegedly carried out by a 23-year-old South Korean native, would not "stir up racial prejudice or confrontation."
I remember when 9-11 happened and at my neighborhood liquor store where an Egyptian man was gunned down because they thought he was a terrorist. It was an odd event; I didn't really know what to think about the situation. What I did know was that the man who I bought food and candy was a rather nice fellow and never gave us students a hard time. It's also disturbing that it happened so close to home.
This reminds me of the world war 2 era where the Japanese were thrown into "concentration" camps and people who weren't Japanese but resembled them (Chinese) were taken down (in nice terms) because of their looks/race.
I could see how resentment towards a race could occur, but it still doesn't mean that it's the right thing to do.
"He was a loner, and we're having difficulty finding information about him," school spokesman Larry Hincker said.
Instead, we should all hate on those who are loners, creep bastards who just seem to do nothing. Cho Seung-Hui should be the poster child of creep bastard. His films should have been a warning. Beware of lonely creep bastards.
I'm just kidding.
But not really.
